Tins, boxes, collectibles – the cannabis industry loves packaging. In this KINGSIZE episode from the Mary Jane Berlin, we ask: do you really need all this?
The Hype
Some cannabis brands sell their strains in elaborate tins and boxes – limited edition, numbered, sometimes more expensive than the contents. At the Mary Jane, you see them everywhere.
Marketing or Added Value?
Honest question: does a nice tin make the cannabis better? Of course not. But it tells a story, creates brand recognition, and – yes – it looks good.
The Other Side
There’s also criticism: excessive packaging drives up prices, produces waste, and distracts from the actual product. Not every strain needs a collector’s tin.
Our Take
Quality first, packaging as a bonus. Putting the world’s best cannabis in a plastic bag is wrong. But stuffing mediocre flower in a gold tin is too.
